The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, is maintaining its commitment to fund Takiyat Ibrahimi, an ancient charity soup-kitchen near the Al Ibrahimi Mosque in Al Khalil (Hebron), which has been distributing thousands of meals to underprivileged people from the city and neighbouring towns.
In an exclusive interview with WAM, Sheikh Tayseer Abu Sunaina, kitchen supervisor, said that the Emirates Red Crescent has made year-round generous donations to the kitchen, which has distributed 73,000 meals so far this year, and funded 20,000 meals which the kitchen distributed to disadvantaged people during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Takiyat Ibrahimi serves-up hot meals, up to three times a week, for around 10,000 people each month.
Abu Sunaina said that the U.A.E.'s aid initiatives in Palestine have been implemented since the days of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continue under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The supervisor also expressed his appreciation for all the continuous support that the ERC is providing to the people of Al Khalil.
