Over one million people in Gaza needed food aid to survive before the current crisis. Hundreds of thousands of people are without adequate water and sanitation as despite repair work to the networks, the main Gaza power plant remains inoperable.

DEC member partners have been working around the clock to provide food and clean water for people in Gaza. Working tirelessly to ensure children and families receive the nutrients they need, they continue to find ways to provide whatever help they can get.

Oxfam have been providing water distributions by tanker and have reached up to 200,000 people. 4,200 people have received bottled water. They distributed food parcels to 2,600 people. As well, they have distributed food vouchers to 52,000 people, to help them buy essential supplies, including bread, rice, wheat flour, yoghurt, milk, cheese, vegetable oil, cereals, dry legumes, eggs and canned fish.

World Vision continues to distribute 1,000 food parcels and 300 hygiene kits. They are also moving to larger scale food distributions and providing 7000 gallons of fuel for two hospitals.

Save the Children have been providing daily distribution via partners of 4000L of drinking water each day in tankers to people in schools being used as shelters. They have also reached more than 2000 people with food parcels.

DEC members will continue to use appeal funds to reach hundreds of thousands of people with urgently needed food and safe drinking water.
