The 2014 Gaza Crisis Appeal requesting $551 million in support of the vulnerable population of the Gaza Strip affected by the conflict was launched on 9 September in a joint press conference by the Deputy Prime Minster of the State of Palestine and the Humanitarian Coordinator. It focuses on displaced persons, the injured, the elderly, children, and women, as well as farmers and fishermen who have lost their livelihoods.
Preparations for the first day of school set for 14 September as part of a major Back to School campaign are on-going in close coordination with the Ministry of Education, Education Cluster and UNRWA.
