Summary of key facts
Approximately US$285 million has been committed/contributed since July 2014 to support the humanitarian response in Gaza , for projects within and outside of appeals launched by the United Nations ( UN ).
The September 2014 update of the UN Gaza Crisis Appeal requests US$551 million – an increase of US$184 million from the initial appeal launched on 1 August. The UN Gaza Crisis Appeal is currently 34% funded at US$186 million .
The revised Strategic Response Plan for the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) , which incorporates the UN Gaza Crisis Appeal, now has requirements of US$92 9 million. The appeal is currently 39% funded.
Humanitarian funding for the Gaza crisis reached its peak in August 2014 when donors were contributing at a rate of US$7 million per day.
Despite increased requirements for the UN Gaza Crisis Appeal in Septem ber, funding levels so far this month have fallen to a rate of US$0.6 million per day.The top three humanitarian donors to Gaza since the beginning of July are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK).
