Priorities & Activities
During the recent conflict in Gaza more than 2,200 people were killed and some 11,500 wounded in 51 days of hostilities and as many as 400,000 people were displaced within the densely populated coastal enclave. Over 25,000 homes are uninhabitable – many reduced to rubble. As many as 25% of the victims are reported to be children. The ICRC worked in Gaza throughout the crisis. During the coming weeks and months of recovery, we will be intensifying our efforts, in close collaboration with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to help with the recovery process.
