More than half a million Palestine refugees continue to be affected by the conflict in Syria, with more than 280,000 displaced within Syria. With the impending onset of winter, UNRWA is positioning winterization items, including blankets, mattresses, food and other essential NFIs. Following improvements in the security situation in Qabr Essit Camp, UNRWA was able to re-open two schools damaged by conflict, benefitting 1,200 refugee students in two shifts. The Agency continued to encounter difficulties in accessing Palestine refugees in Yarmouk, Khan Eshieh, areas of Rif Damascus, and villages to the west of Dera’a. UNRWA remains deeply concerned about refugees’ limited access to humanitarian assistance in the besieged area of Yarmouk.
